Network Configuration

You can configure the WAN output (which will give connection to the Internet in most scenarios) of adquio from the web interface.

If at some point you want to confirm that the configuration has not changed, it is using the physical screen interface (PRO models) or using the DHCP Automatic service, you can press the refresh button in the upper right corner.

IP modes

There are the following ways to be selected:

Without configuring

Indicates that the configuration has not been established or has been lost.

Interface deactivated

Deactivates the WAN interface and does not allow Internet connectivity by this means.

DHCP

Many IP networks include a DHCP service that is responsible for delivering and configuring an address for each new device that is connected. In small or domestic networks it is usually integrated in the same router or Internet gateway.

If this mode is configured and there is no delivery service of IP addresses on the network adquio will be established on an random IP Local link, these addresses are recognized because they begin by 169.254. If this is not the expected configuration, use the manual configuration mode or make sure there is a DHCP service on the network and that it is correctly configured to deliver an IP to adquio.

The DHCP service also provides name service settings and gateway. However, it is possible to overwrite the name servers manually.

Fixed (manual)

In manual fixed IP mode it is necessary to set all configuration parameters. Ask your network administrator with the corresponding configuration and make sure that it does not set the same IP address to two or more equipment: the reuse of IP addresses on the same network can lead to difficult to diagnose connectivity errors and problems.

IP and mask conversion to CIDR notation

There are two ways of representing the address and network of an IP device.

  • IP and normal mask: defined as two separate fields, consistant each in four numbers between 0 and 255 separated by points. For example: ip = 127.0.0.1 mask =255.255.0.0.
  • CIDR notation: Contains the IP address (in four numbers format separated by points) followed by a bar and a number between 0 and 32 (without spaces separating any field). For example: 127.0.0.1 / 16.

The adquio web interface expects the CIDR notation. However, if your network administrator provides you with the configuration in the form of two separate fields, a conversion assistant is included by pressing the key to the right of the field.

Name Servers (DNS)

Name servers are used to resolve Internet domains (eg: www.equs-app.com) to IP addresses. It is an essential service to connect the tunnels and services in the cloud of adquio and Equs; It may also be necessary to easily configure some device protocols through TCP / IP.

When the selected address mode is DHCP, these servers are also configured as established by the address server. However, you may want to edit them.

In this section you can select a list of ordered DNS servers. A server on the list is not started to use until all the precedents fail. Thus, the second server will only be used when the first fail, the third only when the first and second fail, and thus consecutively. It is only considered that a server fails when it does not resound, if a server gives as a response that a name does not exist adquio will assume that the requested domain is incorrect and will not try to solve it with the following.

Usually you will have two servers configured: one main and a reservation.

Note that, since DNS servers solve the network names, you can only set by putting your IP address and not a name or domain (the resolution of that name would depend on the server that is still being configured).
