Variables

The variables section serves to search for variables, its status, values in real time and to edit the value of those that allow writing.

The editable variables show a pencil icon next to its value, pressing this icon opens the edit window. The editing dialog has a switch for boolean variables and a text field for the rest; if the variable has mappings defined, a drop-down is added with the options, however, you can configure any value accepted by the variable although there is no mapping.

Press the TICK icon (✓) to write the new value in the variable or the cross (×) to close the dialog without changing the value. A progress indicator indicates that the writing operation is being sent or confirmed, if when the value is disappeared, it is reduced red, the change could not be made (check that the variable is properly configured and that the device allows the operation).

When a variable that is being displayed changes value, the change in real time will be displayed on the table and flashing in yellow.

States of variables

The status is shown as a color circle in the first column of the table.

  • Gray circle  Stopped.
  • Yellow circle  Initializing: Initial state while communication is established with the device.
  • Green circle   Normal operating.
  • Red circle  Out of service: You can not consult the device / variable because it is not available or because it is not correctly configured.
